Each Year in the forest

In 2020 my husband and botanist Andrew Hipp collaborated in a year-long series for Arnoldia. Arnoldia is the Arnold Arboretum’s quartely mgagzine. Andrew wrote Each Year in the Forest, four essays describing each season in the forest. My ink and watercolor illustrations on cold press paper are the result of this year-long collaboration. I worked from specimens that were collected by Andrew or from photographs that he took in the field. Here is a small sample from the nearly eighty illustrations that I drew.
